3186 Beach Patrol is seeking a new group leader to manage the group which has been running since 2013. Support and training provided to appointed group leader. 

Role description: 

  • Sending out monthly emails to volunteer members 
  • Entering data into an app called "Litter Stopper" via a mobile device 
  • Managing the equipment- Pick up sticks, T Shirts, gloves, Beach Patrol bags 
  • Passionate about keeping the environment free from litter and protecting our wildlife and marine life 
  • Will need a Working with Children's Check 


3186 Beach Patrol members keep the beaches and piers clear of litter in an area that ranges from New Street in Brighton to Head Street at Elwood.

Members pledge one hour of voluntary cleaning per month and also join in group clean-ups on a regular basis throughout the year.

We are a family friendly group that includes people of all ages.  We share a passion to keep our beaches rubbish free and safe for all to enjoy. 

Since our formation in 2013 we have had generous grant support from Bayside City Council through a series of grants that helped to establish and maintain the group.

Time Required

1hour cleans at Brighton Beach once a month
