VOLUNTEER TO HELP PEOPLE FIND THE FREEDOM TO TAKE THE REINS
Riding for the Disabled Moorabbin
Moorabbin, VIC
Posted 5/30/2022
Riding for the Disabled assists children and adults with disabilities to ride horses in a safe environment, under the supervision of registered coaches. Horse riding offers both physical and mental health and fitness and is a natural reflex inhibiting position which helps improve balance and posture providing a unique form of exercise and rehabilitation.
Volunteers, between 18 and 80 years of age, are needed to help with riders and horses. All training is provided on the job.
Sessions are held each day Monday to Saturday 8.30am to 1pm approximately during school terms.
The main function of our volunteer is to assist the coach to provide a safe and effective program for our riders. Volunteers without horse experience are most welcome as our primary function is to help the rider to have confidence and enjoy the experience of sitting on a horse.
Volunteering opportunities are endless: you could assist during lessons, care for and feed horses, assist with fundraising or even become an RDA coach!
monday - Friday mornings approximately 3 hours
