Black Rock and Sandringham Conservation Association Inc (BRASCA) has met and worked regularly since March, 1970. BRASCA cooperates with the municipal council, government departments and other organizations with similar aims, to guard and improve the state of the foreshore.
Volunteers with BRASCA meet on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays every month 10:00am - 3:00pm, variable often depending on weather conditions.
Volunteering activities include:
- Propagation of plants and seeds;
- Planting of indigenous plants;
- Removal of weeds;
- Reporting vandalism and rubbish dumping to Council;
- Collection of light rubbish
BRASCA Vision: To provide in an ongoing and sustainable manner, protection of the natural Bayside coastal environment for present and future generations.
BRASCA Mission: We are committed to working actively with the Council, Government and the Community to protect, preserve and enhance the environmental quality of our sensitive coastal park and engage in broader environmental issues.
